FREMO in Italy

The birth
The initial spark leading to the birth of the Italian group of FREMO was the exibition in 2002 of MEC Schlanders (South Tirole) a modular layout that complies the FREMO norms, and the discover of the english web site of FREMO Norway. A group of Italian Railroad modelers, very interested in practicing the railway operation, was pushed to deepen the knowledge of FREMO.
Six Italian modelers decide to translate into Italian the German site and later to try their hand in the establishment of a regional group.
So here began, through the web, lively discussions that brought the initial group to establish Italian FREMO standards both for HO and N scale.
In December 2003, these are published on FREMO.it, and then repeatedly refined.
In this review are very important the information obtained from friends of FREMO Stammtisch München during the Gräfelfing exhibitionin December 2003 , and their constructive solutions have been source of inspiration beyond.
Of the six founding members , three are also members of ASN (Association of Friends of the N scale): and this explains why the FREMO-Italia working group has chosen N scale as the first test of the modular system.
