SAFI
From the official announcement in September 2003, at the end of 2 years processing, finally the first small modular layout takes shape and is baptized at the home of one of the founders January 7, 2006.

A Standard profile for the module head is adopted (Italia N endpalte) with the raised tracks, standards are established for ballast and for the grass, NEM standards adopted for wheels and wheels profiles , and the code 55 Peco tracks are adopted.
Referring to real branch railways in north-central Italy, begins the exercise of SAFI (Anonymous Society Belgian Railways to operate in Italy).
A single track branch line with mostly Diesel motive power, set in the great plain of northern Italy and connected to the main national railway network, during the years between 1970 and 1980.
Industries along the line move each year a good number of freight cars and a light passenger service contribute to the give interest to the line operations.
The initial effort was concentrated on building the modules according to the tasks identified, rolling stocks preparation, weathering and painting in the social livery, and Car-Cards preparation for every car.
It was thus possible, in April 2006, during the annual ASN meeting, the first official presentation of FREMO Italia-N.
On this occasion, an Operating session was organized, open also to all modelers that subscribed the request, so to disseminate the FREMO philosophy. A model magazine reported the event with a detailed article.
